Email support@bearmostudios.com — that’s the whole support system. No ticket portal, no chatbot. BearMo Studios is a very small studio, so expect a reply within 2–3 business days.
What to include in a bug report
It saves a round trip if you can tell us:
- Your iPhone model and iOS version (Settings → General → About)
- The Fernweh version (shown at the bottom of the app’s Settings screen)
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead
- A screenshot or screen recording if it’s something you can see
Please don’t send us your journal or your photos — we don’t need them and we’d rather not have them.
Common questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Fernweh → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next charge. You keep access until the period runs out. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
How do I cancel during the free trial?
Same place, and the same 24-hour rule: cancel at least 24 hours before the two-month trial ends and you will not be charged.
I paid but the app doesn’t think I’m subscribed.
Open Fernweh’s settings and tap Restore Purchases, making sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. If that doesn’t sort it, email us.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where is my data stored? Can I get it on a new phone?
Your journal is stored on your iPhone only. It moves to a new phone through your iPhone backup (iCloud Backup, or an encrypted backup to a computer) when you restore the new device from that backup. Please keep backups turned on. If a phone is lost or reset with no backup, the journal cannot be recovered — not by you and not by us, because we never had a copy. See the Privacy Policy.
Route tracking stopped partway through my hike.
Usually one of: Low Power Mode, the battery dying, or location permission set to something other than “While Using the App.” Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Fernweh and make sure Precise Location is on. Please also remember that GPS is approximate and should never be relied on for navigation or emergencies — see the safety section of the Terms.
My distance or elevation looks wrong.
GPS accuracy varies a lot with tree cover, canyons, weather and how the phone was carried. Figures Fernweh records are approximations, not survey data.
How do I delete my data?
Delete individual entries in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on that device. Details, and how to make a written request, are on the data deletion page.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. It’s a real intention rather than a promise, and there is no date.
I have an idea for a feature.
Send it. Small studios actually read these, and a surprising number of them get built.
