Capture
Photos, notes, dates, distance, elevation and how it actually felt, from a weeknight loop to a once-in-a-lifetime ridge.
A BearMo Studios original
Fernweh
Your adventures. Remembered.
A beautiful journal for the places you’ve been, the trails you walked to get there, and the moments you never want to forget.
Free on the App Store. Requires iPhone.
Made for explorers
Capture more than a moment.
Preserve what it means to you.
Fernweh keeps the places that move you close, organised, personal, and easy to revisit.
Remember
Every hike pinned where it happened, sorted by place, date and rating. A season of walking looks different when you see the shape of it.
Relive
Fernweh gathers past hikes into short photo reels: the feeling of your phone’s memories, except it’s only the trail.
Meaningful
No feed, no followers, no streaks to keep. Just your own record, kept for you, in a quiet app that isn’t asking for your attention.
Built for the journey
Your adventures,
all in one place.
From weekend hikes to trips you’ll tell stories about for years, Fernweh gives every memory somewhere to live, and records the walk while you’re still on it.
- A beautiful timeline of everywhere you’ve been
- GPS route tracking, with pause and resume
- Maps and location memories
- Notes, photos, tags and honest ratings
- Designed for quiet, personal moments
- Private by design: no account, no cloud
Journal
remembered
For people who wander
You’ll forget the mileage.
You won’t forget the light.
Fernweh is for the curious, the dreamers, and the ones who collect moments instead of things.
Privacy
Your journal stays on your phone.
Fernweh has no accounts and no sign-in. Your entries, photos, notes and recorded routes are stored in the app’s database on your device. There is no BearMo Studios server holding a copy, because there is no BearMo Studios server.
There are no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising code, no crash-reporting services and no trackers in the app. We don’t sell or share your data, because we don’t have it.
The honest caveat. When you search for a place to attach to an entry, that search is handled by Apple Maps and goes to Apple, under Apple’s privacy policy. And because your journal lives only on your device, it’s only as safe as your backups, so keep iPhone backup turned on. The full privacy policy spells all of this out.
Pricing
Free. No trial, no subscription.
Fernweh is free to download and free to use. There’s no subscription, no trial period, and no in-app purchase. Nothing to cancel, nothing to renew.
